Kuwait’s Annual Culinary Contest Highlights Alshaya’s Commitment to Deliver Outstanding Customer Experiences
Kuwait’s popular dining destinations operated by the Alshaya Group including Asha’s, Bouchon Bakery, Café Coco, Veranda, and 400 Gradi, won over 15 awards and a number of merit certificates at Kuwait’s leading food and beverage competition, Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Awards (HORECA), hosted this month.
The three-day show, held at Kuwait International Fair, hosted a number of exciting competitions to highlight chefs’ talent, hospitality professionals and culinary students.
Asha’s signature flair won them one gold, five silver, and three bronze medals in the Asian and Mystery Basket categories, while Bouchon Bakery won two silver and two bronze competing in the Best Burger Challenge and Best Éclair category. Gold, silver and bronze medals were jointly awarded to Veranda, Café Coco and Bouchon Bakery for their winning entries in the Mystery Basket, Kuwait Dessert and newly introduced Jack Creek Steak Challenge.
Over 320 participants from Kuwait and other countries took part in this year’s exhibition, competing in 21 competitions. From the best bread creation and Mystery Basket Competition to the best burger, Kuwait dessert and Asian cuisine, the competitions were judged by experts and heads of chef unions from a number of European, Arab and Asian countries.
