Crown Prince of Bahrain visits The Avenues

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Defense Force, and his accompanying delegation, visited The Avenues Mall in Kuwait. They were welcomed by Mr Mohammed Alshaya, the Chairman of Mabanee Company and Executive Chairman of M.H. Alshaya Co.

HRH Prince Salman toured different districts at The Avenues and was briefed on Mabanee’s expansion plans in several countries of the region, including Bahrain.

During the visit, Mr Alshaya underlined the importance of opening The Avenues in Bahrain, as one of the region’s important markets. He added that the development would push the economy in the Kingdom forward, and would especially support tourism. He also noted that the project would make job opportunities available to young Bahraini men and women.

The Avenues - Bahrain is the first commercial and entertainment mall in Bahrain with a unique sea frontage extending 1.5 km. The project is strategically located in the heart of Manama, adjacent to King Faisal Road.

More than 80% of the construction work on The Avenues - Bahrain has been completed, and the mall is to be inaugurated in October 2017. The project’s overall leasable area stands at around 40,000 sqm, with 130 retail units, 50% of which have been allocated for restaurants and cafes – all overlooking Bahrain Bay. There is also a large family entertainment area, including play halls, 12 cinemas, public parks, pedestrian walkways and parking.

HRH Prince Salman and his accompanying delegation were on an official two-day visit to Kuwait, during which he also held talks with the political leadership of the country to discuss bilateral relations.
