Alshaya Celebrates Success of Participants in its Kuwaiti Graduate Programme

M. H. Alshaya Co. was pleased to celebrate successful participants from its Kuwaiti Graduate Programme at a special ceremony recently held at the company's head office in Shuwaikh. The programme, which has been operating since 2006, supports Alshaya's commitment to train and develop young Kuwaiti nationals and introduce them to a career in retail.

The latest intake of graduates has been working for the past six months in a range of departments across the business including Digital Marketing, Customer Service and Fashion. During this time they have not only gained valuable work experience but have also received training and coaching on a range of core business skills. Having successfully graduated they are now able to develop their careers at Alshaya within their chosen discipline. As a leading international retail franchise operator, Alshaya is able to offer a wide range of career opportunities within the company, both in retail operations as well as within specialist functions.

Commenting on the ceremony, Dalal Al Jaser, Nationalisation Project Manager, said "We are very pleased to welcome this latest group of graduates to Alshaya. I graduated from this programme in 2006, and I am honoured that my role today is to assist other Kuwaitis to join our company and contribute to its success. There are plenty of opportunities for young Kuwaitis at Alshaya, and we have a full team ready to help and support them."

Alshaya was recognised in 2013 as the leading company for training Kuwaiti nationals by the Manpower and Government Restructuring Programme (MGRP), a government body that partners with businesses to help build the number of Kuwaitis developing a career in the private sector. As well as its Graduates Programme, the company manages a wide range of initiatives, including the annual Retail Summer Programme, a month-long programme that provides first-hand experience on the shop floor, and the Retail Management Programme, a dedicated two-year course for those interested in retail operational roles.
