Children to Hit the Airwaves with 88.8 Marina FM in KidZania Kuwait

14 Jul 2013

KidZania Kuwait today welcomes 88.8 Marina FM, one of Kuwait's leading radio stations, as the newest addition to its growing list of international, regional, and national marketing partners. Keeping in line with KidZania's award-winning 'edutainment' concept, 88.8 Marina FM will sponsor the Radio Station establishment where children will learn more about the media world of radio broadcasting.

88.8 Marina FM's establishment gives children the opportunity to run a radio show by being a Broadcaster, or manage the broadcasting as a Control Booth Technician. To immerse children in a real-life environment, the young Broadcasters will undergo fun and educational training, which will teach them the basics of radio broadcasting such as time cues. Children's experience at the Radio Station establishment will help them channel their creativity, understand the importance of time, multitask, follow instructions, and also help in reducing fear of public speaking.

Children role-playing as a Control Booth Technician will have a more significant behind-the-scenes experience. Although a Zupervizor (establishment supervisor), in the form of the Station Engineer, actually handles the main technical controls and provides the necessary direction to the Broadcasters, the Control Booth Technician will take on important hands-on tasks such as creating sound effects and pushing time-sensitive buttons to aid in the production of a live and exciting radio broadcast.

Commenting on this new partnership, Hussain Al Mosawi, the Chief Operations Officer at 88.8 Marina FM said: "We are very excited to partner with KidZania Kuwait, which will help us provide children – our current and future audiences – with a truly interactive approach to radio broadcasting via an unprecedented experiential platform. We are certain that our partnership with KidZania Kuwait will help us hone the skills of the energetic and enthusiastic budding young radio broadcasters and sound engineers of the future."

"We are very proud to have yet another homegrown brand on board KidZania Kuwait," commented Fernando Medroa the Vice President of Leisure and Entertainment at M.H. Alshaya: "88.8 Marina FM's presence within KidZania Kuwait will not only provide a real insightful behind-the-scenes look at radio broadcasting, but it will also encourage children to utilize their imagination and newfound skills to help create a better world. We are positive children will enjoy 88.8 Marina FM's highly immersive radio activities."

The exciting KidZania Kuwait edutainment centre, which is open at The Mall - The Avenues, will provide children with more than 80 roles and 100 activities to enjoy within a fun and interactive environment.
