Alshaya Family Hosts Dinner at Diwan for Turkey’s President Erdogan

On the occasion of Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey’s visit to Kuwait, Mr Abdulaziz Alshaya, Chairman of the Alshaya group was pleased to host a private dinner for the President at the Alshaya Diwan this week.
The occasion reinforced the strong relationship that Alshaya has enjoyed with Turkey since it opened its first retail franchise store there in 2002. Today Alshaya employs over 3,000 people in Turkey, operating over 300 stores and bringing leading international brands such as Starbucks, Victoria’s Secret and Debenhams to Turkish consumers.
Leading figures from across Kuwait’s private sector attended the dinner, who together represented a wide range of industries including retail, real estate, construction, banking and hospitality.
Mr Abdulaziz Alshaya, Chairman of the Alshaya Group expressed his pleasure about Mr Erdogan’s visit to Kuwait. “We are greatly honoured to welcome President Erdogan to our Diwan and to celebrate the close ties we have enjoyed with Turkey since 2002. I am pleased to have this opportunity to express our appreciation to Turkey and be able to return the hospitality we have enjoyed in this traditional Kuwaiti setting.”
