Alshaya Prepares to Open 42 Brands at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi with Aldar

A wide range of leading international brands brings exciting new choices to customers in Abu Dhabi

M. H. Alshaya Co, the leading international retail franchise operator, is getting ready to open 42 different brands at Yas Mall, the major new retail, leisure and entertainment mall set to launch this November on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The store openings represent Alshaya's single biggest opening on one day, all in a convenient one-stop destination for customers.

In total the stores cover over 30,000m2 of retail space, offering shoppers an exciting collection of well-loved fashion & footwear, food, health & beauty, pharmacy, optics and home furnishings brands.

The bumper opening day represents a range of 'firsts' for Alshaya, including the largest international Debenhams department store, the first Pottery Barn Teen and the first Icing stores in the United Arab Emirates. It will also mark the first openings in Abu Dhabi for Victoria's Secret, The Cheesecake Factory, COS, Texas Roadhouse, Muji, River Island, Jo Malone and West Elm. Other brands operated by Alshaya at the mall will include H&M, Mothercare, and Starbucks. Alshaya's investment in Yas Mall also sees the creation of 2000 jobs.

Commenting on the opening, Alshaya's Senior Vice-President for Property Development, John Hadden, confirmed that the company's presence at Yas Mall is part of its ongoing commitment to expand customer choice and grow in markets across the Middle East.

"As the retail market continues to develop, we continually look for opportunities to introduce our portfolio of well-loved international brands to new customers in new markets. The scale of the Yas Mall development gives us a great opportunity to extend the choice available to discerning, brand-savvy consumers in Abu Dhabi," said Mr Hadden.

"With its proximity to both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, we are confident that the mall will become an important new retail, leisure and entertainment destination in the United Arab Emirates, and look forward to welcoming customers to our stores."
